Vienna (OTS) Sports fans are already getting in the mood for the major winter sports events of the next few weeks live on ORF (Wengen, Kitzbühel and Schladming) and the Ski Flying World Championships on Kulm. Yesterday’s victory (January 7, 2024) by Manuel Feller in the slalom classic in Adelboden was not missed by up to 1.033 million people in the second round and an average of 931,000 with a 57 percent market share (57 and 78 percent MA in the young target groups). – that’s a season record.

The Four Hills Tournament, which ended with two Austrian victories, was seen by 2.739 million (widest audience) on ORF 1, which is 36 percent of the domestic TV population aged 12 and over. Up to 988,000 ski jumping fans saw Stefan Kraft’s victory in Bischofshofen on January 6th, with an average of 882,000 taking part in the second round with a 46 percent market share (44 and 62 percent in the young target groups), which is also a top value for the season and Four Hills Tournament record since 2021.

The ORF’s streaming offerings were also used intensively: According to the online moving image measurement (AGTT/GfK TELETEST census), the live streams and videos-on-demand from the Four Hills Tournament from December 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024 achieved a total across Austria 395,000 net views (related usage processes), 1.3 million gross views (video starts) and a total usage volume of 15.0 million minutes. The most used live stream was the men’s ski jumping in Innsbruck, 2nd DG, on January 3, 2024 with an average reach of 26,000. The second round of the slalom in Adelboden achieved an average distance of 28,500 across Austria.
