Vienna (OTS) – Tickets for the 9th Vienna Science Ball on January 27, 2024 are now available in the web shop.
The chairman of the ball committee, Oliver Lehmann, recorded extremely high interest even before tickets went on sale, both from home and abroad. Tickets are available now at http://www.wissenschaftsball.at/shop/ get booked. The prices: €100 for regular tickets, €40 for students. Tables and boxes can also be arranged http://www.wissenschaftsball.at/shop get booked. Due to the increased space, 4,000 guests are expected this time.
Lehmann: “What became apparent last year is confirmed again this season: interest in the Science Ball is extremely high. We were flooded with inquiries even before tickets went on sale! The Science Ball represents the diversity, size and excellence of the universities, technical colleges, private universities and research institutions in the greater Vienna area.”
The program in the ballrooms on the first floor and – for the first time since 2020 – also in the people’s hall of the town hall presents a stimulating mix of amazing scientific presentations, surprising tastings and music from waltz and jazz to soul and tango, including the opening committee and midnight quadrille. Through the commitment of around 400 orchestra and band musicians, dancers, event technicians and gastronomy employees, the Science Ball makes a significant contribution to Vienna’s cultural and event scene.
Lehmann: “Music from all genres from waltz to swing, world and tango to hip hop awaits you on five stages from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Presentations from the world of science transform the town hall into an open-plan laboratory for enlightened enjoyment.”
Once again, the rectors, presidents and heads of all Viennese universities, private universities, technical colleges as well as the ÖAW, IIASA and ISTA form the honorary committee and thus underline the relevance of Vienna as the most important university and research location in Central Europe. Highlights of the program will be announced over the coming weeks, as will the ball ambassadors from science, business, culture and society.

9th Vienna Science Ball
Vienna’s youngest traditional ball will take place in the coming ball season on Saturday, January 27, 2024 in the town hall. The City of Vienna invites you to the Science Ball with the participation of the entire Viennese research and university landscape. The motto: “Fun with decency. Dance with attitude”.
The Science Ball represents the Viennese research landscape in its excellence and diversity. The typical elements of a Viennese ball are combined with references to Viennese universities. International visibility is created by global stars of popular science communication.
