Salzburg star chef opens new bar concept

He is one of the best chefs in Europe and is now making his award-winning cuisine (including 2 Michelin stars, 4 Gault & Millau toques, 4 Falstaff forks) available to those who prefer to enjoy à la carte instead of the large gourmet menu. Andreas Senn has now opened the new SENNS.Bar in the Salzburger Gusswerk, where his restaurant is also located: 20 seats in a cool industrial bar design, 8 original dishes from the restaurant with starting prices starting at 8 euros and around two dozen open wines Focus on Burgundy and Bordeaux as well as the “Sen(n)sational Cocktails” created by the top chef.

Andreas Senn: “From now on there are two worlds that we offer our guests. The big show with menu and wine accompaniment in the restaurant and at the front in the new bar a casual appearance that is also suitable for spontaneous visits – regardless of whether you want to have a bite to eat or just want to come by for a glass of wine or a cocktail.”

Special: The dishes from the 2-star kitchen are available at reasonable prices. For example, the steamed buns like “Rosa Bianca Aubergine, Edamame and Miso” (8 euros) and “Mangalitza pork belly, hoisin and kimchi” (9 euros) or creations like “Calamaretti, cucumber, dill and wasabi” (19 euros) and “ Ox marrow dumplings, yeast, cauliflower and white Alba truffle” (28 euros). Only the original dishes from the SENNS.Restaurant are served. “We welcome guests from all over the world to our restaurant, but we notice that there are more and more people who prefer to eat à la carte. The new bar is now a great option for all of them if they want to enjoy a taste of our kitchen,” says Senn.

The bar menu is also innovative, and in addition to the classics, it particularly impresses with the “Senn(n)sational” section. This refers to the star chef’s cocktail creations, which are served in five different flavors – in keeping with the restaurant concept, which serves up these “5 senses” as an amuse gueule. For example, the flavor “Sour” with “Kaffir Gin, Matcha, Pandan, Lime and Egg White” or “Bitter” with “Cold Brewed Coffee, Red Vermouth, Rum and Coffee Liqueur” and “Umami” with “Green Tea Gin, Dry Vermouth, Pineapple , coconut and salt”. The SENNS.Bar is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 6:30 p.m.
