Cohesion and charitable commitment have always characterized the rural youth of Lower Austria. She proves this year after year with campaigns such as the project marathon and numerous charitable initiatives. In the fall of this year, 30 groups were also deployed to help with the clean-up work after the catastrophic flood. This year we took part in the Ö3 Christmas Miracle for the sixth time to collect donations for families in need.
More than 160 groups involved
This year, more than 160 rural youth groups across the country took part in the campaign and gave free rein to their creativity. Whether with mulled wine stands, cookies or the traditional Santa Claus visit: the fundraisers were extremely imaginative and busy.
State management: “Proud of our members”
“We are proud of the commitment of our members and incredibly grateful for the great support we receive from them year after year”
says state manager Sabine Pfeisinger enthusiastically. “Actions like this show what you can achieve when you want to do something good together”
agrees with country manager Markus Höhlmüller. The two presented the donation live on Ö3. Hundreds of members traveled by bus from all over Lower Austria for the handover and then sang the rural youth anthem “We are there!” together.
Broad program for youth in rural areas
The rural youth organization of Lower Austria is the largest youth organization in the country with more than 20,000 members. With its six focus areas: general education, agriculture & environment, culture & customs, sport & society, young & international, and service & organizational development, it offers a very broad program. A sense of community and community benefit are particularly important, which are particularly expressed in the project marathon and the Ö3 Christmas miracle.
