In “Rohrer bei Budgen”, ORF Vienna’s new podcast, long-time domestic policy journalist Anneliese Rohrer analyzes the country’s political hot topics in her usual pointed manner every fortnight with ORF presenter Patrick Budgen. “Hopefully the analyzes will be entertaining, but by no means superficial,” promises Rohrer. She is looking forward to “the different perspectives with her much younger colleague,” Rohrer continued.
The idea for the podcast came from ORF journalist Budgen: “I have had Anneliese Rohrer as a guest several times in my interview series in ‘Wien aktuell’. The audience reaction was so positive that it was clear to me that we had to do something regular with the doyenne of domestic domestic politics journalism,” says Budgen.
ORF Vienna editor-in-chief Oliver Ortner sees the podcast as another attractive offer for forming political will and opinions: “Especially in times of domestic political turmoil, a public broadcaster stands for classification and orientation. Anneliese Rohrer is known for not only keeping her distance from all political movements, but also for analyzing political processes in clear and concise terms.”
A total of eight episodes of the new ORF Vienna podcast are initially planned. The start date is September 5th, 2024 on ORF Sound and on Radio Vienna from 11:30 p.m. and from September 6th on all common podcast platforms.
