The video editor Nora Schäffler was awarded the Robert Hochner Prize for young journalist: online journalism. Schäffler is a graduate of the 360 ° journalist: Inner-Traineeships of the Media Innovation Hub of the media group Wiener Zeitung and has been part of the WZ since February 2025.
Katharina Schmidt, editor -in -chief of the WZ, emphasizes: “Nora’s work is exemplary for what we want to promote as an editorial team: a sense of socially relevant topics, a clear attitude and courageous access to new journalistic forms.”
Schäffler’s formats on Instagram and Tikkok specifically reach a young audience and are based on the basic principles of quality journalism: fact -based, independent and accessible. It was awarded, among other things, for reports such as the “Skinytok” phenomenon.
“I am very pleased with the award, especially because it shows that young journalism is taken seriously in the digital space. From the beginning, I had the chance to pursue topics that are important to my generation from the start. That this work is now seen and appreciated, motivates me to continue.”
