With 80 speakers and 22 media partners, re:think media offers a platform on which aspiring media professionals and established media companies meet on an equal footing. The focus of the event is the exchange between young and experienced media makers and the positive view of the future of the industry. The aim is to strengthen Austria as a media location in the long term and make it fit for the future by promoting young journalists. re:think media was organized for the second time this year by the Media Hub Austria of the Wiener Zeitung media group.
“We create an exchange at eye level between young and experienced people in the media industry. We want to connect, inspire young journalists, media companies and media makers in Austria and work together on the further development of the media location. We are very pleased with how well re:think media is being accepted as a platform.”
emphasizes Martin Fleischhacker, managing director of the Wiener Zeitung media group.
“re:think media meets the demands of young media makers in the Austrian media industry – we have proven that again this year. Personally, I am particularly proud of our 70% female speaker ratio.”
says project manager Theresa Lambert.
The program included discussions about the future of journalism and social media issues, as well as workshops about successful journalistic formats for young target groups. Around 20 partner companies presented their media company and innovative concepts from Austrian media makers. At the end of the event, the best “30 under 30” journalistic talents were honored on the main stage by the specialist medium “Österreichs Journalist:in”.
