Ambiguity with regulations has finally been resolved – the first tenders in 2024 can start soon

Vienna (OTS) – With the adoption of fundamental regulations to implement the Renewable Energy Expansion Act (EAG), the funding conditions for the expansion of renewable electricity for 2024 are finally clear. Once the legal deadlines have expired, the first calls for tenders of the year can take place. “The expansion of renewable energy must be promoted continuously and reliably. The regulations create the basis for applying for investment grants and market premiums. They are the essential building block for implementing the EAG and must ensure that an additional 27 TWh of electricity is available in Austria for a 100 percent renewable energy supply by 2030. The EEÖ positively emphasizes that the first funding call for investment funding can now start on April 8th. The market bonus can be applied for from May 14th.
During the review process, the industry made significant comments on the draft regulations, particularly the funding conditions for biomass systems and lower funding rates for photovoltaics. Here, the EEÖ, as an industry representative, will closely monitor the effects and strive to improve the conditions as necessary.
