- Gerhard Stübe is stepping down from office after 5 years
- For the first time, a woman is leading the umbrella organization for the congress and meetings industry
- Doris Bader, Thomas Kahn, Anita Paic and Ingrid Pichler are new to the ACB board
At the general meeting of the Austrian Convention Bureau, the Austrian umbrella organization for the congress and meeting industry Renate Androsch-Holzer, Owner of RAM Consulting GmbH, elected as the new president on July 3rd. She follows with it Gerhard Stübe, Managing Director of Kongresskultur Bregenz, who has held this position since 2019 and provided significant impetus for the renewal of the conference industry. Renate Androsch-Holzer is the first woman to head the ACB. She is a trained tourism clerk, self-employed entrepreneur and has been an integral part of the ACB board since 2018.
The general meeting subsequently ordered Anita PaicVienna Tourism Association – Vienna Convention Bureau, as Vice President, Doris BaderCongress Center Villach, as finance officer and Susanne Baumann-Söllner, Austria Center Vienna, as secretary. The following category representatives were also elected:
- Convention Bureaus & Tourismusorganisationen: Ingrid Pichler | Convention Bureau Upper Austria
- Congress and conference hotel industry: Garry Löfgen | InterContinental Wien
- Conference service provider: Thomas Wasshuber | STEINERLIVE.COM
- Congress, trade fair and event centers: Thomas Kahn | Congress Center Alpbach
- PCOs, agencies & organizers: Stefan Walter | Mondial Congress & Events
Furthermore were Hubertus Rothwangl from Austria advertising and Alexander Snail co-opted into the board of Austrian Airlines.

“, said Renate Androsch-Holzer after her election. And continued: “I am proud to be the first woman to take on this position. The ACB spirit, which I value very much, will make it easier to achieve our goals.

The outgoing president Gerhard Stübe thanked the ACB board team for “five years of fruitful collaboration. In 2019 the congress world was still fine, then the pandemic put a lot of demands on our industry. We used this time to develop and develop valuable collaborations, recommendations for action were developed for the federal government and the association supported the members with advice and support. With the network we have established, we have developed a collaborative and interdisciplinary strategy for business meetings in Austria for the first time. I look back with pride on the successful work of the association and with confidence in the future of the further growth and international competitiveness of the Austrian meeting industry.
