Vienna (OTS) – Austria has an excellent national vaccination plan, a good, established child vaccination concept and public vaccination programs for individual vaccine groups. Current vaccination rates are too low for many vaccination indications. An increase would not only benefit those vaccinated, but also the health system and the economy. The reasons for the lack of vaccination protection in some groups of people are varied, as are the possible measures to increase vaccination rates. The Austrian Association of Vaccine Manufacturers (ÖVIH) has created a “National Action Plan for Vaccination – 2024” with 7 demands to improve the Austrian vaccination system. This will be presented at the press conference on February 1, 2024. The following questions will be addressed, among others:
- What vaccination goals are needed and what measures do we need to meet them?
- For which population groups and vaccinations is a public vaccination program necessary?
- How can you use the e-vaccination certificate even better?
- Why is long-term vaccine planning so important to ensure vaccine supply and functioning vaccination concepts
