Vienna (OTS) – For a year now, a broad network of gynecologists, communication experts, activists, politicians and many more have been campaigning for decriminalized, self-determined and low-threshold access to abortion with #AusPrinzip. Abortion and physical self-determination have recently become increasingly the subject of debates at European and international levels.
#AusPrinzip is therefore inviting you to action days from May 27th to 30th under the motto “Stronger Together”. These are ushered in with a Media campaign that highlights the medical side of abortion. Dr.in Mirijam Hall, assistant doctor for gynecology and obstetrics and co-initiator of #AusPrinzip, explains the abortion process using papayas, which are similar in shape to the human uterus. Also on site Dr.in Petra Mariacher, specialist in gynecology and obstetrics and founding member of Doctors for Choice Austria. The doctors explain how abortion is stigmatized because it is anchored in the criminal code and is therefore not treated during studies and what this means for medical students and the care of unintentionally pregnant women.
