Reform of hard labor: NÖAAB is sticking with it and expects the next federal government to solve this problem

Teschl-Hofmeister: The reform of hard labor must come

St. Pölten (OTS) “As NÖAAB, it is our job to improve the general conditions for employees. Our demand for improved access to heavy-work pensions is on the table and we will not let up in the federal government, because this is one of the most urgent concerns of many employees,” said Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, regional chairwoman of the Lower Austrian Employees’ Association.

“The change from a daily view – 15 working days – to an hourly view – 120 hours – per month must be changed. This is an important point because the number of 15 working days can hardly be reached through longer periods of service. By switching to 120 hours, appropriate fairness would be created and other working time distributions would also be taken into account. This approach is intended to make it easier for employees to access hard labor. This developed model also clearly distinguishes us from other demands in this area,” says LAbg. Anton Erber, social spokesman for the VP Lower Austria.

“We as NÖAAB expect the next federal government to finally solve this problem,” said NÖAAB state chairwoman Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.
