The Steinfeldstraße in the course of Landesstraße L 2089, located in the municipal areas of Maria Enzersdorf, Mödling and Wiener Neudorf, was redesigned over a length of around 730 meters. Due to its age and the lane damage (displacements, lane channels, etc.), the L 2089 no longer corresponded to today’s modern traffic requirements. That is why the Lower Austria Straßendienst and the municipalities of Maria Enzersdorf, Mödling and Wiener Neudorf have decided to renew the road at the L 2089, including the redesign of the adjoining facilities from 0.000 to kilometer 0.730.
The lane of the state road L 2089 was milled off in the relevant area on an area of around 6,400 square meters and restored by applying a new asphalt layer. In the course of this, the damaged adjoining facilities were removed and new sidewalks, bike paths and numerous storage areas for the resting traffic along the L 2089 Steinfeldstrasse were rebuilt. The construction company Granit carried out the work from July to August. The total construction costs for the roadway renovation of around 235,000 euros were fully borne by the state of Lower Austria. The municipality of Mödling, the market town of Maria Enzersdorf and the market town of Wiener Neudorf share the costs for the redesign of the adjoining facilities of around 600,000 euros.
