Enzersfeld (OTS) – In less than a week, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo will be starting its 28th edition, and the globally unique motorcycle off-road sports event will set new standards in both sport and event technology at the Styrian Erzberg. Factory professionals and ambitious amateurs from 50 nations and all continents face the challenge of mastering the toughest Extreme Enduro event in the scene – and fighting for valuable points in the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. In addition to the superstars of the current Hard Enduro World Championship season, motorsport fans can also look forward to top caliber riders from the Enduro World Championship, the Trial World Championship, the American Supercross and Hard Enduro scene and even from the rally raid sector. The next generation of Hard Enduro athletes is also fully represented, as the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo also counts as a round of the FIM Hard Enduro Junior World Championship. And then, in addition to the thousands of hobby motorsport enthusiasts, the top drivers from the national off-road racing series will also be at the start!
The top favorites for the toughest race on the scene have arrived in Eisenerz and are acclimatizing for the challenges ahead. Manuel Lettenbichler, Trysan Hart, Graham Jarvis, Mario Roman, Theodore Kabakchiev, Wade Young and also Austria’s top hard enduro rider Michael Walkner have already been spotted on their mountain bikes doing a relaxed workout in the breathtaking surroundings of the Erzberg.
The largest enduro festival in the world traditionally starts with Gentle Rocket Ride Steep slope race on Thursday. The number of participants is limited to 300 drivers, the starting field is fully booked and the racing action is spectacular. After the qualifying runs, the 48 fastest drivers go to the Rocket Ride Superfinals on Thursday evening – and provide superlative off-road action in front of the thousands of enthusiastic fans! 1,308 participants will take part on Friday and Saturday Blakläder Iron Road Prolog on the almost 15 kilometer long race track over the Erzberg. The selective high-speed gravel route, peppered with numerous chicanes, winds from the start next to the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Arena over the open-cast mining routes of the mining area to the finish. The drivers start individually, the faster of the two running times decides whether they win or congratulations. With the Siberia Trial Xtreme Challenge The organizers are offering another racing highlight for all participants and visitors. The Brit is a true legend with 5 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo victories and is still at the top of the world even at the age of 49 (!)! Red Bull Erzbergrodeo with a spectacular new route
The changed route of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo main race on Sunday is causing great interest this year. 2024 will be the legendary signature checkpoint Carl’s Dinner already served in the first half of the race. Carl’s Dinner is a section of the route that is peppered with boulders that are sometimes as tall as a man and demands everything from the drivers and requires excellent driving technique. With a total length of 3,700 meters (divided into 3 sections), the section is considered one of the toughest tests in hard enduro sport. “By moving Carl’s Dinner” to the first half of the race, we want to give as many participants as possible the chance to experience this iconic part of the route and all its challenges for themselves. We are expecting around 200-250 drivers at Carl’s Dinner this year, so spectacular motorsport action is definitely guaranteed.
