The Velden Advent – a romantic winter fairy tale and at the same time a visitor magnet for guests from home and abroad.
Fields (OTS) – The Velden Advent opened its doors on November 24th and got off to a brilliant start right from the start, with an increase of 10,000 visitors on the first weekend. The Veldener Tourismus Gesellschaft as organizer is therefore looking forward to the following Advent weekends with confidence.
After the 2nd Advent weekend one thing is certain: with an increase in visitors 54.000 Compared to last year, the Velden Advent is an absolute “must visit” to experience the magic of Christmas at Lake Wörthersee up close.
Over the last two decades, the Velden Advent has developed into a visitor magnet, attracting all those who want to experience the fascination of winter Velden. “The Velden Advent is without a doubt one of the most atmospheric Advent markets in Austria, which attracts guests from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, the Netherlands and Germany far beyond the borders,”
said Hannes Markowitz, managing director of the Velden tourism company.
There is a special magic inherent in the Christmas season… and here in Velden am Wörthersee this magic is brought to life very elaborately and, above all, with many loving details in the children’s program. The entire town and the lake are the backdrop. The Floating Advent wreath with its 80,000 lights not only illuminates the Velden Bay in the dark winter night, it also conjures up light and warmth in the hearts of the countless Advent visitors.
At Velden Advent, special attention has always been paid to a diverse and unusual children’s program. This means that the Velden Advent also counts Austria’s top destinations for families during Advent. “The Christ child personally chose this place and sent his heavenly helpers here to shorten the wait for Christmas for the little Advent guests. Embedded in our new, magical fairy tale of lights In the Velden spa park, our littlest Advent visitors immerse themselves in Fabian’s world of angels,”
says Sabine Aigner from the Velden tourism company and also a children’s book author who is responsible for the children’s program.
Lovingly and personally looked after by our highly motivated angel team, small gifts are made here and letters of wishes are written, which are sent straight to the Christ child via airmail. At the funny one Star puzzle rally The little Advent visitors follow the footsteps of the clumsy but lovable angel student Fabian through the town.
Local retailers and restaurants opened their restaurants and shops during Advent and decorated them beautifully for Christmas. Numerous exhibitors from near and far have found a second home here. They present their goods lovingly decorated in the Advent stands at various places in town.
A highlight for everyone who shares their passion for dogs, cats and horses is a visit to 1. Furry nose Advent im Courtyard of Villa Bulfonwhich is all about the welfare and joy of animals.
