Reconstruction at the ORF radios continues – new managers at Ö3 and for audio digital offerings

Several personnel decisions were made in Ö3 departments and the management of the Digital Services department

Vienna (OTS) In order to ensure the continued success of the ORF radio fleet, important personnel decisions were made in the ORF radio management. The ORF audio strategy entails, among other things, a reorganization at Hitradio Ö3, which is why ORF General Director Roland Weißmann has now appointed the following people as department heads (in alphabetical order): Eva Hettegger (Social Media) as well as Verena Jury-Enzi and Petra Kulis-Jesenko ( planning, communication and administration). Albert Malli has been appointed to head the newly created Digital Services Audio department within the Radio Directorate. The new managers will take up their roles on August 1, 2024.

The “Social Media” management is responsible for the planning and production of program-related social media content for Ö3, especially for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

The “Planning, Communication and Administration” management is responsible for the areas of resource management and rostering, central project control (“Traffic & Continuity”), Ö3 public relations work and operational management at the station (“Ö3 Station Operations”), including administrative specialists (“Ö3 Office Management”).

The “Digital Services Department” manager in the ORF Radio Directorate is responsible for the editorial content of the audio platform ORF Sound, the cross-station coordination of the ORF’s non-linear audio offerings and the editorial product management for all of the ORF’s audio digital offerings.

ORF radio director Ingrid Thurnher: “More than 4.5 million people in Austria tune in to ORF radio every day, and Hitradio Ö3 is responsible for most of the touchpoints with the audience in the ORF family. I am pleased that Ö3 is repositioning itself with a modern structure and a competent and young management team to secure this success. A new staff department headed by Albert Malli, which will assume editorial responsibility for ORF Sound and in which our audio-digital offerings will be further developed across all broadcasters, will optimally position our public audio content in the digital world.”

Ö3 channel manager Michael Pauser: “It gives me great pleasure to work with these extremely committed and creative colleagues on radio in the future. Within a year we have successfully completed a realignment, including a schema adaptation and the introduction of new program highlights such as the ‘Mental Health Festival’ and ‘Kratky sucht das Glück’. With our newly formed management team, we are ideally equipped to continue to maintain our leading position in the Austrian radio market.”
