Numerous visitors in Lower Austria and Vienna found out about the topics of home renovation, energy efficiency and housing financing.
Vienna (OTS) – “Reduce costs, increase values”: The Raiffeisen EnergieSparTag on January 26, 2024 in Lower Austria and Vienna focused on free information and advice on the topics of renovation, funding, housing financing and energy efficiency.
“The Raiffeisen EnergySparDay is an important impulse towards energy self-sufficiency and minimization of CO₂ emissions. What is important in this process is to involve the people in our country with us in order to be able to achieve the climate goals on the one hand, but also to save energy costs and thus protect our own wallets to be able to,” emphasized the Member of the Lower Austrian state parliament FRANZ DINHOBLon behalf of State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, at the press conference.
“This year’s Energy Saving Day clearly showed how great the need for information actually is. People want to take active measures to counteract ongoing inflation. For example, an average household can save more than 1,000 euros per year with professional thermal renovation,” said Raiffeisen NÖ-Wien General Director MICHAEL HÖLLERER. “We support our customers with individual consulting and financing services and are a reliable partner in implementing their projects.”
This includes reducing ongoing energy costs, but above all making home ownership possible as an important retirement provision. Raiffeisen NÖ-Wien is very keen to make both the purchase and renovation of their own four walls more affordable for people. To achieve this, a new campaign was launched: Young families in particular benefit from the “Raiffeisen Home Ownership Bonus” of up to 6,000 euros when building, renovating or purchasing residential properties.
“The chimney sweep companies in Lower Austria have always been an active partner in climate protection. Thanks to our many personal appointments, we know where people’s problems are. That’s why we collect energy-saving potential directly from them as part of the ‘Climate Fitness Check’ campaign “Our goal is to specifically reach people who would not undertake renovation work on their own initiative. With the support of partners like Raiffeisen, this service can be offered to households free of charge,” says MATTHIAS VETISKA, guild master of Lower Austria.
As part of the “Climate Fitness Check” campaign, over 500 households throughout Lower Austria will be addressed in the pilot phase. Trained employees of the chimney sweep companies carry out inventory surveys directly on site and explain potential savings through thermal renovation.
Raiffeisen NÖ-Wien: Strong impulses for the domestic and regional economy
In the last ten years, Raiffeisen NÖ-Wien has forwarded around 15,000 funding applications to the Lower Austrian state government for the renovation and construction of new homes and apartments. This also means strong impetus for the economy: The funding applications correspond to a funded investment volume of 750 million euros. Overall, this triggered investments of around 1.9 billion euros. These in turn enabled around 5,000 jobs to be secured in Lower Austria.
For around 20 years, Raiffeisen NÖ-Wien has attached great importance to the topics of energy saving and climate protection. For example, RLB NÖ-Wien is a pioneer in the area of financing renewable energy, especially in wind power and photovoltaic projects: over the last two decades, it has expanded renewable energy in Austria with a volume of 1.7 billion euros actively supported. The focus was on wind power. This means that more than 700,000 households can be supplied with environmentally friendly electricity.
Raiffeisen NÖ-Wien also supports the establishment of renewable energy cooperatives. The “Renewable Energy Cooperative Feistritztal” was the 21st to be founded in Lower Austria. What’s special: The legal framework of a cooperative is the tailor-made legal form for electricity producers and consumers and offers the possibility of regional energy supply with your own local systems. For example, the Eisenhuber electricity works, a hydroelectric power plant that has been in operation in the Feistritztal for 125 years, guarantees a constant supply of green electricity for the entire valley without seasonal or time-of-day fluctuations.
