Vienna (OTS) – The “Proud of Vienna” project has been supporting Viennese companies that have gotten into difficulties due to the corona pandemic and the resulting tense situation for three years. Before the project moves into the support and support phase at the beginning of 2024, a well-known Viennese company was able to secure a final investment.
“The ‘Proud of Vienna’ program was created with the aim of providing rapid help to Viennese companies. I am glad that overall we managed to achieve sustainable economic aid for 50 companies. With investments amounting to around 24.2 million euros, over 940 jobs were secured thanks to ‘Proud of Vienna’
” emphasizes City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke.
Traditional Viennese publisher turns 50. Proud of a Viennese company
The 50th and final addition to the “Proud of Vienna” family is Brandstätter Verlag Vienna. The family business was founded in 1982 by Christian Brandstätter. In its early days the focus was on art and culture. Today the publishing house is broadly positioned in the area of non-fiction: the range of topics ranges from autobiographies to social politics and popular science to cultural history and cuisine.
Nikolaus Brandstätter is the second generation to run the family business, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2022. “The insolvency of our Austrian book logistics company at the beginning of the year cost us a lot of money and nerves. We have now been able to compensate for the majority of the damage caused. In order to be able to build on the forward strategy of the last few years and to have more investment scope for innovative projects, we are now taking the path of ‘Proud of Vienna’. We look forward to working together and thank the City of Vienna for this attractive opportunity to strengthen our capital structure
“, says publisher Nikolaus Brandstätter.
