The study of the willhaben platform data for the entire year 2023 has – based on sent inquiries – identified calendar weeks one to four and 19 to 23 as the optimal sales time for the sale of ball gowns: In terms of the number of messages sent per 1,000 advertisements, there was an increase in the previous year At these times, the most requests for advertisements from ball dress sellers were made. If you want to get rid of ball shoes after the high season because you may have only rarely or not stepped on the dance floor this year, calendar weeks 17 to 20 are particularly promising for you. According to the available evaluations, ads in the “Pumps / High Heels” marketplace category received the most inquiries on average at this time. The second best time last year was the early summer phase between calendar weeks 26 to 28.

Much later in the year, between weeks 38 and 42, there was a phase in which a particularly large number of advertisements went online in this category.
The largest selection of clutches – according to the average published advertisements in 2023 – was found in calendar weeks one to ten last year. In the “Clutches/Evening Bags” category, similar to the ball shoes, another noticeable high followed from calendar week 38.
The best time to buy according to the lowest average offer prices
In addition to a large number of offers, the offer price often plays a significant role when looking for the new ball outfit. For ball gowns, the average willhaben offer prices for online advertisements varied by up to 25 percent in 2023 – depending on the time. In calendar weeks 14 to 18 of 2023, the advertisements with the lowest average offer prices were placed online.
The timing plays an even more important role in the prices of pumps and high heels: Anyone who wanted to secure the corresponding shoes in calendar weeks 20 to 24 of 2023 found offer prices that were on average 25 to 35 percent lower in the advertisements that had just gone online , than at other times of the year.
Incidentally, the biggest price fluctuations in ball fashion over the course of 2023 were in the “clutches/evening bags” category: Anyone who looked for a new ball bag in calendar weeks seven to ten found the ones online on willhaben that were on average 30 to 40 percent cheaper Ads earlier than later in the year.
