Program highlights 2024 on the Krems Art Mile

23 new exhibitions between Dominikanerplatz and Minoritenplatz

St. Pölten (OTS) The 1.6 kilometer long Krems Art Mile offers 23 new exhibitions from Dominikanerplatz in the old town of Krems with the museumkrems and the Dominikanerkirche via the Museum Square with the three large exhibition halls Landesgalerie Niederösterreich, Kunsthalle Krems and Karikaturmuseum Krems to Minoritenplatz with the Forum Frohner in Stein in 2024.

The Kunsthalle is bringing the British sculptor Thomas J Price to Austria with “Matter of Place”, and the state gallery is presenting it under the title “On the move. Journey into the Collection” artists such as Maria Egner, Oskar Kokoschka, Egon Schiele and Olga Wisinger-Florian, the Caricature Museum is celebrating Manfred Deix’s 75th birthday with “I Love Deix” and is also presenting “The Simpsons” and a special program as part of the Exhibition “Erwin Moser. Fantastic stories.” The Forum Frohner is honoring the 90th birthday of its namesake with two exhibitions, the museumkrems is showing “Paper Unlimited” and is awarding the Erich Grabner Prize for artistic graphics for the first time.

Further program items include a retrospective on the 100th birthday of Elfriede Mejchar and algorithmically generated imagery by Monocolor alias Marian Essl in the Landesgalerie as well as the video work “Whiteface” by Candice Breitz in cooperation with the “Donaufestival” in the Kunsthalle. In October, black and white photo series by the couple Anna and Bernhard Blume as well as – in cooperation with AIR / Artist in Residence Lower Austria – the “Kremser Berge” by Gabriele Engelhardt will follow in the Kunsthalle.

For the Gothic nave of the Dominican Church, Günter Wolfsberger will create a light and sound installation in collaboration with the sound artist BJ Nilsen and the Swiss Christian Gonzenbach creatures and objects made of different materials. There will also be a specially designed room installation in the Landesgalerie, where the Irish artist Claire Morgan is presenting her first exhibition in Austria. The future award winners will also be presented in the State Gallery, while the galeriekrems will shed light on the work of Michaela Hofmann-Göttlicher, Johann Feilacher and Susanne Schober.

Finally, the exhibition “7 Deadly Sins. Current Comments” in the Kunsthalle, Wolfgang Ammer’s “Dialogue with the World” in the Caricature Museum, the Herwig Zens exhibitions in the Forum Frohner and in the State Gallery as well as the Franka Lechner staff in the State Gallery can still be seen.
