With the opening of the specialized statutory health insurance practice “Wundheilung Wien”, Priv. Doc. Dr. Christoph Ausch, specialist in surgery and vascular surgery, sets a new benchmark in the treatment of chronic and complex wounds. On December 4, 2024 at 4:00 p.m opens his practice in the Elisabethallee 61-63, 1130 Vienna its doors and offers comprehensive and specialized care to patients suffering from difficult-to-heal wounds. The practice, integrated into the Vienna Wound Network, aims to relieve the burden on hospitals and be a low-threshold contact point for those affected and those referring them, such as doctors and nursing facilities.
Comprehensive care for all patients
The “Wundheilung Wien” health insurance clinic welcomes all patients and provides genuine social medical care. Dr. Ausch, supported by a specialized team of specialists and qualified nurses (wound managers), offers tailor-made therapeutic approaches for individual patient situations.
Low-threshold contact point in the west of Vienna
The practice is the first and currently only established facility of this type in the west of Vienna, which was realized in cooperation with the ÖGK and the City of Vienna. “Caring for people with chronic wounds not only requires in-depth knowledge of the causes and forms of wound healing disorders, but also requires specific treatment methods and basic skills in the therapy of wound healing disorders. Chronic wounds are wounds that do not heal within a normal period of around six weeks despite appropriate treatment. We are all the more pleased as the Austrian Health Insurance Fund with Priv. Doc. Dr. Christoph Ausch to have such a competent partner. Not only does he work closely with the PVE Küniglberg, but in addition to his specialized statutory health insurance practice “Wundheilung Wien”, he also cares for the immobile patients of the surrounding nursing homes through home visits.
