This morning, the BUND European Youth (BEJ) commented on the Twitch Canal Wildmics together with Europe Direct Vienna (Europedirect.Wien), Cultur United CLG and other partners on the Twitch Canaltwitch.tv/wildmics) Speech on the situation of the European Union (SOUE) by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The annual speech to the European Parliament was first held by José Manuel Barroso in 2010 and has been the most important political fundamental statement of the EU since then.
Ella Walzer, Federal Chairman of the Bej, unmistakably called for the live commentary:“Europe has to be prime time! The speech is about the situation of the Union where everyone can see and then discuss them.”
Already at the first so tax, the then Bej/Jef federal chairman Daniel Gerer criticized that a morning date excluded many interested parties who were at work or in class at the time. Real relevance as a common European Democracy event only unfolds when it is broadcast live at the best broadcast time.
Since the first time, the BEJ has confirmed that this speech is given the importance it deserves, a clear signal is needed – Europe belongs in prime time!
