The ice age fascinates: it arouses thoughts of iconic ice age animals such as Mammut, Gianthirsch or cave bear. But also on people created by humans such as the cave paintings in Spain and France or the Venus of Willendorf.
However, in exhibitions and museums, the topic is mostly told from the perspective of adults. In the newly designed permanent exhibition “Ice Age Children and their World”, the children’s experience of experience is located. Small and large visitors can playfully discover the everyday life of ice age children: animals, everyday objects, food, medicine and art.
For the exhibition, the departments for prehistory, geology, science communication and exhibition management worked together. The ideas of three school groups also included the project. The architecture firm Schuberth and Schuberth was commissioned to design them.
Children are expressly desired and cordially invited at the press conference!
Because the exhibition “Ice Age Children and their World” and the accompanying publication show the ice age from a child perspective – playful and exciting for all generations.
