The Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland (BSVWNB) blind and visually impaired association cordially invites you to the anniversary event on the occasion of 200 years of braille. There is a first overview of the importance of the braille in advance on the Landing Page www.braille.at .
The program with sparkling wine and finger food leads ORF editor Lukas Osztovics:
- Erich Schmid, Kulturattaché of the BSVWNB, is reminiscent of Louis Braille’s life’s work – and talks about the role the braille plays for himself.
- To be handed over to a tactile photo from the Canon project World Unseen-to marvel at now as a permanent loan in the house.
- Special exhibition with rare exhibits from the archives of the Federal Blind Institute BBI and the BSVWNB as well as a hands -on area to get to know the braille.
- And as a highlight: the opening of the donator: inside Tafel – a work of art in honor of those supporters who have campaigned for BSVWNB in a special way. The artist Dean Maassen is personally on site and gives exciting insights into his concept that deals with the power of hands.
