A visit to the Petitions Committee is devoting itself to the challenges in dealing with the growing wolf population and the effects of the EU renovation regulation (Eudr) on the Austrian forestry and timber industry. The exploratory trip leads the delegation – consisting of nine MPs – to Vienna, Styria and Salzburg.
It was created in response to several Petitions for wolf management in agriculture. The delegation is informed about existing protective measures and security measures, as part of a balanced interaction of biodiversity protection and traditional management methods. Special attention also applies EU renovation regulations (Eudr). The focus is on the potential effects on local industry, small companies and sustainable forestry practices in Europe.
The MPs have conversations with petent: inside, political decision -makers: inside, industry representatives: inside and non -governmental organizations, to discuss economic consequences and sustainable solutions.
