For almost a year, a genocide has been carried out in Gaza in full view of the world. Official Austria, especially the Austrian federal government, but also the established parties are not only silent, but are also steering on a course of continued support for this genocide. Austrian neutrality, which would require an immediate ceasefire and a just peace, is suspended. In order to maintain this course even against the majority of the population, the government is relying on increasingly authoritarian measures and the dismantling of democracy, for example with regard to basic rights and the repression of Palestinian solidarity.
The overwhelming commitment of many and broad sections of the population in collecting declarations of support for the candidacy of List GAZA – Voices against the genocide in Tyrol has, however, proven how many people show civil courage based on elementary human morality and want to see List GAZA on the ballot paper for the 2024 National Council elections to give the political system a lesson.
