Posters appear in Vienna: Totschnig with full-column pigs on “ÖVP advertising”

“Fully slatted floor – This is for the culture of suffering,” is the slogan, referring to the dominant culture propagated by the ÖVP with a strange understanding of home

It is now clear to everyone what kind of cruelty to animals is completely slatted concrete floors without litter. You rarely have to be stubborn to deny that. But does Totschnig deny it? No, he seems to want to preserve it as an Austrian cultural asset. The profit of the animal factories comes first! The pigs’ need for at least a bit of quality of life has to be put aside. We call on the Minister of Agriculture and the ÖVP to finally end their blockade. The vast majority of people want straw for pigs, as several surveys have already shown. We owe these animals at least a little bit of fairness and justice if we’re going to use them for our own enjoyment!

Vienna (OTS) We know: NOW must be over the end of pig farming on fully slatted floors be decided. And we know: Agriculture Minister Totschnig is the driving force behind preventing this ban. Possibly to draw attention to these circumstances, unknown activists distorted the ÖVP advertising. In many places in Vienna there is now a poster on ÖVP advertising spaces that shows Totschnig with pigs on a completely slatted floor. Underneath it says: “Fully slatted floor – This is for the culture of suffering”. And in fact, the ÖVP promotes pork from fully slatted farming as local, with good quality, exemplary animal welfare and from small-scale farming on family farms. The dominant culture of Austria? Torture pigs so much that hundreds of thousands of them die after less than 4 months of keeping them? That 92% of animals have painfully inflamed joints? This is a dominant culture, or rather a culture of suffering, that the population can do without!
