“We go to the last phase of the election campaign with attitude, seriousness – and also with a wink,” explains Karl Mahrer, top candidate of the Vienna People’s Party, on the occasion of the launch of the new “Mahrer Wave”, one Mobilization clip for the hot campaign phase. The music clip, which goes online on time for the Easter weekend, combines political statements with pop -cultural communication approaches – and shows that election campaign is different: self -confident, creative and unorthodox.
“Vienna needs change – with heart, common sense and handshake,” says Mahrer. “We show that you can do politics that clearly appeals to problems and offers real solutions – without bad things.”
The “Mahrer Wave” is loosely based on international political Lofi music pieces such as the “Merkel-Wave” or the “Boris-Wave”. The Vienna People’s Party now gives the concept an independent, charming-like spin. Lofi with Smäh.
Peter Sverak, state manager of the Vienna People’s Party, added:
“We deliberately go unconventional paths – with posters, with clear language, but also with digital formats that surprise, entertain and have something to say politically. The” Mahrer Wave “is not a classic party video – it is a pop -cultural statement with a political core. In love with detail, brave, different. “
The attention to detail is noticeable: from Karl Mahrer’s Bulldog to a guest appearance of Mayor Ludwig to passing clouds above the Vienna City Hall – everything is lovingly encouraged. The clip is accompanied by a specially composed reinterpretation of the classic “Vienna remains Vienna” – modern, but with respect for tradition.
“We prove that political communication does not always have to be loud, shrill or polarizing,” said Mahrer. “She can also be charming, ironic and yet clear in the statement.” At the same time, the video is a commitment to the city: “We are part of this urban society. We understand Vienna how it lives – and we want to take responsibility so that Vienna remains worth living.”
The central claim “Vienna remains Vienna. Only with us.” runs through the entire video as a thread thread. The People’s Party is not presented as a fundamental opposition, but as a bourgeois corrective: solution -oriented, ready to government, close to humans.
“In this campaign, the promise of protection of the People’s Party comes as a lounge version-with an exclamation mark, a wink and a sound that may even cause talk. Chill with the ÖVP and Karl Mahrer-nobody on the radar in this election campaign.
