Even if the bookmotto is to apply here, for reading “no advice” (Virginia Woolf), Regina Jarisch’s new volume of poetry is recommended, because this poetry invites you to make up for something from your stock.
In her poetry band »Hardening Flight« from 2020, Regina Jarisch combined her poems with drawings by the Thuringian artist Jost Heyder and with the Ikarus swinging through the winds, whose timeless dreams she wants to save with »fly proud scores«. She now demands courage for four years: “Actually dancing”. There are eight photos of the Thuringian artist Gudrun Wiesmann, who was friends with her, you create special, thoughtful looks at the texts by Jarisch.
In her “inventory” Regina Jarisch missed “an hour from the moon and an hour of venus”, because she “looked two hours too much/ into the worldly hustle and bustle”. Did she want to “force the petrified conditions to dance” (Karl Marx)? Jarisch also picks up elements of chaos against fragmented, petrified worlds. But it is difficult to get a song of living together if the “loss of word” with “Feedback Server Store Topseller Cash Crash” emptied the words. On the bank of the words “equality is not in demand/ and brotherhood (…) not gender”, the misunderstood “freedom is disappointed”, because “hope and peace/ no longer covered by a check”. Her “word/ against the ghosts” with “intercession” by Daniele Danz, Wolfgang Borchert, Hans Christian Andersen and Walther von der Vogelweide, not in an ambitious, but in productive appropriation. In “age complaints” Günter Kunert’s poem “film – wrong” sounds: how it is 80, then forty, twenty or not yet born “and age (flies)”.
As a protective cover of the skin, she torments the tight clothing. The culture has dug into the skin, the time has been read and then “the hands fall into the cleavage”. And the red thread is plucked, wrapped, braided in the love poem and drawn in his ends, “Annamated” he “causes” in late summer (…) in tender to each other “.
Regina Jarisch (born 1956) grew up in Magdeburg, studied and worked in Weimar. The member of the Literary Society of Thuringia shows the proximity to the Thuringian-Saxon School of poet, in their relationship to language, with expressions from fairy tales and myths, with old and technical words, with a bitter or back and recurring words of the 88 poems that are in Thematic groups are caught: “Heart grabs”, “Zimmerelkenlöwzahn”, “large format”, “Sparks fly”, “sheep do not dance” and “worded”. In Regina Jarisch’s poems, a connecting word sound network floats between people, in miraculously conceived, flown words flown out of the imagination.
