Part of the cycle path between Ollersdorf and Stillfried was officially opened

Another project for the construction of a bicycle base network was implemented in Gänserndorf

St. Pölten (OTS) In the region of the market town of Angern an der March (Gänserndorf district), part of a new cycle path was officially opened today. The route ran along an existing, unpaved dirt road between Ollersdorf and Stillfried that was recently in poor condition in sections. Due to the entire project length of around 2.9 kilometers, the project was carried out in sections and at separate times. The first section begins at the end of Scheunengasse at the northeastern end of Ollersdorf and runs for around 1.3 kilometers to the border of the cadastral community of Mannersdorf. This project has now been completed. This represents a further step towards the establishment of the Gänserndorf cycle base network. A basic cycle network is a cross-community plan for everyday cycling.

With an appropriate construction structure, the cycle path section was designed with an asphalt width of three meters and a shoulder of up to 0.5 meters on both sides. The Porr company was commissioned to carry out the work, which carried it out in a construction period of around two months. The funding was processed by the Lower Austrian Road Service. The total costs for the cycle path section amount to around 290,000 euros, with 70 percent being borne by the state and 30 percent by the market town of Angern an der March.
