“In 2024, over 100,000 SVS insured people took part in our prevention initiative ‘Smile together.’ “participated,” says Peter Lehner, chairman of the social insurance for the self-employed (SVS). “Every insured person received a 100 euro bonus for their visit to the dentist last year. “In doing so, we have created a strong incentive to take active precautions,” emphasizes the SVS chairman.
“The transformation from a repair system into a prevention system is a crucial building block for a modern, efficient and future-oriented healthcare system as well as for the quality of life and performance of every individual. We not only create the offer, but also the necessary incentives,” explains Lehner and continues: “Prevention is the key to health. Every euro invested in preventive measures contributes to a positive cost-benefit balance in the long term. The SVS has invested around ten million euros in this prevention initiative.”
The “Smile Together” initiative is part of the SVS’s comprehensive pension offering. These include, among others, the SVS Health Hundred, the prevention program for young people “Health Check Junior”, the SVS Health Weeks and SVS Camps as well as the SVS Safety Hundred. SVS also offers its insured members the opportunity to reduce their deductible to 10 or 5 percent by achieving and pursuing their individual health goals over the long term. In 2022, the annual prevention programs were started with “Vaccinated healthier.”, followed in 2023 by the focus on preventive examinations. “With ‘Protect together.’ 153,488 insured people completed their preventive examination. In 2025, the SVS will actively promote pension transformation with a new initiative,” concludes Lehner.
