OVE Energy Technology Conference 2024: From innovative storage to artificial intelligence

The current challenges of the energy transition are once again the focus of the OVE energy technology conference this year. This will take place on October 16th and 17th in Salzburg. The necessary framework conditions for the restructuring of our energy system are also a topic, as are innovations in the area of storage systems and possible AI solutions. The OVE Energy Technology Prizes will once again be awarded for outstanding theses at HTLs, universities of applied sciences or universities.

What framework conditions do the energy and electricity markets of the future need? Which innovative storage systems are necessary and how can electromobility be integrated in a way that benefits the system? What can artificial intelligence contribute to the success of the energy transition? Experts from energy companies, network operators as well as politics, business and research will discuss these and many other questions on October 16th and 17th in Salzburg.

Keynotes range from politics to technology

The conference starts with exciting keynotes: Herwig Struber (Salzburg AG) will address the ecological and economic added value of the energy transition for society. In his keynote, Wolfgang Kofler (TIWAG Tiroler Wasserkraft AG) will primarily draw attention to the rapidly increasing need for energy storage. Renewables and energy storage are inseparable siblings of the energy transition, says Kofler, who sees an enormous need to catch up here. Energy expert and political consultant Walter Boltz will focus on the political and legal framework for the energy transition and address current challenges in Europe and Austria. Markus Kasinger (Austrian Power Grid AG) and Clemens Wasner (EnliteAI) will discuss the potential of artificial intelligence in energy technology and the energy industry in their joint keynote speech.

Panel discussion, poster session and award ceremonies

In addition to numerous specialist lectures on the main topics of general conditions, energy storage and the possibilities of artificial intelligence, a panel discussion and a poster session, the OVE energy technology conference, as always, offers plenty of opportunity for personal networking. The OVE Energy Technology Prizes, the Prof. Werner Rieder Prize and a Best Poster Award will be presented at the evening event. Everyone who travels to the conference in an environmentally friendly way will also take part in a competition.
