ORF Vorarlberg now also on TikTok

Launched under “orfvorarlberg” for a few days, already more than 50,000 views

Vienna (OTS) ORF Vorarlberg is continuing to expand its successful social media presence and, in addition to the Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) platforms, can now also be found on TikTok under “orfvorarlberg”. The ORF Vorarlberg TikTok team relies on a mixture of compact information on topics that directly affect and move young people in Vorarlberg, as well as entertaining content.

Very young target group

The ORF has the public mission and the claim on itself to be an “ORF for everyone”. Numerous young Vorarlberg residents use TikTok to find out about current events. That’s why ORF Vorarlberg wants to engage young people in the reality of their lives and media usage in order to allow them to participate in social discourse. Of course, this is at the usual high level that the audience expects from ORF Vorarlberg.

Well-founded information

The aim of the ORF Vorarlberg TikTok channel is to provide compact information and entertainment, especially to young people from Vorarlberg, about regional, current and future events that directly affect them. Four formats form the core elements of ORF Vorarlberg’s TikTok presence: compact Vorarlberg news, the fact check that exposes fake news, clever everyday tips and topics that concern users. The videos will also be included in the daily TV program “Vorarlberg today” (7 p.m., ORF 2 V) in order to explain the media world of Generation Z to other target groups.

Markus Klement, regional director of ORF Vorarlberg: “The claim ‘ORF for everyone’ must be lived every day. This also means that we as ORF Vorarlberg take intensive care of our youngest target group. We have to meet young people with their issues where their media use takes place. With our new TikTok channel we want to convey the lives of young people.”

Angelika Simma-Wallinger, editor-in-chief of ORF Vorarlberg: “We also want to reach the very young target group with independent and verified information. TikTok is a very important channel for Gen Z. There you can now get to know ORF Vorarlberg as a regional quality media. This means they will probably also use our offerings on other platforms in the future.”

Based on the reactions, we receive direct feedback from our community, which is incredibly valuable for the development of ORF Vorarlberg.
