ORF reorganizes election research

Foresight Best bidder in international tender – broader cooperation with other election research institutes and media

Vienna (OTS) In future elections such as the National Council, EU, Federal Presidential and state elections, the ORF will broaden its electoral research and cooperate with several institutes and media in matters of projections, analyzes and election day surveys. The Foresight Institute emerged as the best bidder in terms of scope of services and price from a Europe-wide tender by ORF election research. Foresight met all application criteria of the international tender process. The corresponding surcharge was made these days.

In addition to the collaboration with the Foresight Institute, the ORF will also enter into collaborations with other election research institutes and media such as the ARGE Elections or the APA in future elections as a hub for the Austrian media landscape. In the recent EU elections, for example, there was already such broader cooperation in the creation of a joint trend forecast.

Johannes Bruckenberger, editor-in-chief of ORF News: “In the interest of the audience, we will now place our election research on a broader basis than before and can thus ensure greater accuracy and diversity in the analyses. I am pleased to be able to further demonstrate and strengthen our independence in collaboration with the institutes mentioned.”

The call for tenders for the ORF election research took place after the collaboration with the previous election research institute SORA was terminated. The reorganization of election research excludes current and future collaboration with the former SORA head Günther Ogris.
