99.5 percent of all Austrians have access to regional radio offerings via TV
Vienna (OTS) – With the distribution of ORF regional radios on DVB-T2, which has been established since January 1, 2024, ORF is enabling even more households to access its regional radio offerings. This means that 99.5 percent of all Austrians have the opportunity to receive the regional radio program on their TV sets.

“With the distribution of the ORF regional radio stations via DVB-T2, the ORF is able to reach even more people in Austria with its diverse audio offerings. The ORF is thus taking an important technical step towards the use of its offerings and is sustainably simplifying the accessibility of its content for many households in Austria.”
The ORF regional radio stations provide DVB-T2 to more than 313 transmitters throughout Austria. In addition to the reception via VHF that is already possible, this is now also possible for DVB-T2 users. This innovation allows households that have a television set to receive the ORF’s diverse regional radio program unencrypted on TV via DVB-T2 – without being tied to a television module or a TV box. In the respective federal states, this includes Radio Vienna, Radio Upper Austria, Radio Salzburg, Radio Lower Austria, Radio Steiermark, Radio Burgenland, Radio Kärnten, Radio Tirol and Radio Vorarlberg; at the federal level, hit radio Ö3, Ö1 and FM4 were previously able to broadcast via DVB-T2 be used.
In order to receive the ORF regional radio stations on your television, all you need is an antenna. Many TV sets automatically save the radio programs after using another ORF TV or radio offering; otherwise, the radio programs can be found via the station search on the TV set and then only have to be saved. Anyone interested can enjoy the ORF’s regional radio programs on their television without any effort.
