Vienna (OTS) – Exciting ORF III double on the Benko case: On Friday, March 15, 2024, from 8:15 p.m., ORF III will be devoting itself to a documentary about the rise and fall of the Tyrolean real estate investor as well as a new edition of the talk format “zur SACHE” about the economic and political consequences of the cause, which not only shocked Austria.
A “zur SACHE special” with the Austrian premiere of the documentary “René Benko: The Gambler and Politics” (8:15 p.m.) outlines the brilliant success story of the real estate tycoon, who with his Signa Group was responsible for the biggest bankruptcy in Austrian economic history has. The film by Ingolf Gritschneder and Georg Wellmann shows how the entrepreneur with the best contacts in politics was able to arrange billion-dollar deals – in Austria, Germany and internationally. What remains are billions in losses, building ruins and many questions – especially how it could have gotten to this point.
The talk “zur SACHE” (9 p.m.) will then deal with the search for answers and new insights, in which Wolfgang Geier discusses the Benko case with his guests. The participants will be announced shortly.
