Check presentation and musical program in the “Culture Today” special
Vienna (OTS) – On Friday, December 22nd, 2023, Ani Gülgün Mayr and Peter Fässlacher reported with a “Culture Today” special for LIGHT IN THE DUNKEL from the Schönbrunn Palace culture and Christmas market. The result of this year’s ORF III online auction for LICHT IN DUNKEL was announced in the broadcast: The sixth auction with works by well-known artists and numerous cultural packages achieved a total of 224,440 euros for a good cause. The total proceeds were presented by Lisa Zuckerstätter, head of the ORF Humanitarian Broadcasting department, to Ines Stilling, President of LICHT INS DUNKEL.
As an example and representative of the many projects that LICHT INS DUNKEL supports, the proceeds from this year’s online auction, organized by the auction platform aurena.at, will benefit, among others, “School in Dialogue”. 20 children and young people from the inclusive facility were guests in the “Culture Today” special, drumming and singing Christmas carols. Martina Hela, who is currently staying in the Haus Döbling nursing home, was also introduced. The auction proceeds are intended to help them return to a self-determined life. This requires personal assistance and a barrier-free apartment. As a musical highlight, the presenter duo welcomed singer-songwriter Oskar Haag, who created a great atmosphere with his title “Stargazing”.

Numerous companies, celebrities and private individuals supported the big ORF III auction with their exhibits, rarities and vouchers for special cultural experiences. My special thanks go to all of them and of course to the generous bidders, with whose help we were able to raise a total of 244,440 euros for a good cause!”
