ORF brings Matthias Settele on board for platform strategy

Vienna (OTS) The ORF streaming offensive has started successfully with the ORF-ON test operation, ORF KIDS, streaming highlights such as “Biester” and “School of Champions” and much more. The ORF will continue on this path and is increasing personnel in strategic core areas. The internationally renowned media professional Matthias Settele will support ORF as a consultant for the further development of the platform strategy.

After a very successful test phase, ORF ON will now launch the full version on May 22nd. Matthias Settele, an international platform expert, was recruited as a consultant for the next project phase. Settele is now supporting and advising the ORF in the area of ​​digital transformation. The focus is on technical, programmatic and budgetary development as part of the streaming offensive that the ORF has successfully launched with formats such as “Biester” and “School of Champions”. Settele began his career at ORF, among other things, as Gerhard Zeiler’s office manager and worked internationally as a media manager for many years, most recently for ten years as head of TV Markíza, the largest private broadcaster in Slovakia, where he and his team built a successful local streaming platform .

In addition, the ORF is gradually expanding its offerings for young target groups. Alongside television, radio and online, social media will be the important fourth pillar of content distribution. In order to further develop the relevant offerings, the ORF is setting up the new “Young Audience” department in the program directorate. The core tasks will be focusing on the target group of 14 to 29 year olds, further developing the existing social media strategy and creating new offers for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. Lukas Klingan, office manager of General Director Roland Weißmann, will take over interim management.
