“Doc 1: The Secret of Love” with Lisa Gadenstätter at 8:15 p.m
For the Valentine’s Day edition of “Dok 1” Lisa Gadenstätter sets out to find the secrets of love. In a place that knows thousands of such secrets and knows how to keep them: in Vienna’s oldest love hotel, the “Orient”. In his rooms, none of which are alike, she meets guests who can contribute their own stories on this topic. Beate and Ulrich Heinen, for example, who were once known as sister Felicitas and brother Ulrich. Today they are happily married to each other. Or the Swiss Ramon Vegas: When the luxury call boy is booked by his customers, true feelings of love should be taboo. But is that even possible? Tennis professional Nico Langmann, who has been in a wheelchair since childhood, talks about how love and sex can be shaped with a disability. And the Viennese Elena Maria Del Carlo describes her many wanderings when it comes to love – but also the great realization that will hopefully help her to have a happy love life. Medical-scientific insertions come from doctor and cabaret artist Ronny Tekal. Lisa Gadenstätter also pays a visit to the successful actress Emily Cox. Because she too is willing to share a secret: how she manages to credibly portray such a personal feeling as love in front of a camera.
“Doc 1: The Secret of Love” is available on the broadcast day from 10 a.m. on on.ORF.at and in the TVthek app.
“ORF 1 Special: Love, Heart, Commerce” at 9:05 p.m
Flowery greetings backstage: Whether it’s a cheap bunch of tulips from the supermarket or a lovingly tied bouquet of roses from the florist: Valentine’s Day is also an economic success story that sets the cash registers ringing every year. A surprising look behind the scenes at this cut flower business reveals where roses, tulips, etc. in our flower shops and supermarkets come from, where they are traded and how the prices are set. This involves billions in sales, international stock exchange transactions, sales markets and global supply chains. But there is also a traditional trade in which people work with and on the “flower” product with passion and heart and soul.
Swipe, like, match – dating apps and online flirts: Tinder, Bumble and Co. dominate the dating market. Why are they so indispensable? What are they doing to us? What business models are behind it? And what if online dating becomes a psychological nightmare and ends in financial ruin? “ORF 1 Spezial” is on the trail of the booming fraud business of love scammers.
