With “Eat The Rich” banners and a rain of flyers, activists from the Communist Youth loudly invited people to their opera ball demo at an autograph session in Lugner City.
The Opera Ball is a symbol of the immense inequality in society and a pure provocation in times when even full-time workers have to cut back.

Vienna (OTS) – Like Lugner’s press conference last year, this year the young communists used his autograph session with star guest Priscilla Presley to draw attention to their demo and their demands.
Johannes Lutz from the KJÖ says: “The Opera Ball is a symbol of the immense inequality in society and a pure provocation in times when even full-time workers have to cut back.
“That is why the KJÖ is calling for, in addition to real wage increases for all workers, the reintroduction of an inheritance tax and the expropriation of “crisis profits” and housing speculators.
The demonstration starts on February 8th, 2024 at 7 p.m. on Gumpendorfer Straße near Gfrornergasse. Media are invited to accompany the demonstration for interviews or other reporting.
