The new elementary school in Kottingbrunn recently opened. Around 500 children, teachers, parents and guests of honor came to the celebrations. “Schools are important places for the development of our children. They are not just educational institutions, they are also living and leisure spaces. The educators now also find a modern and functional working environment here. I congratulate Mayor Christian Macho and his team on this great project,” said State Councilor for Education Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.
The new elementary school in Kottingbrunn has a total of 16 classes. The new educational facility also includes a preschool class, a multifunctional room, two gymnasiums and two workrooms. “In Kottingbrunn, 300 students find optimal conditions for their start to school life. The school is also ideally equipped to meet future requirements for a modern educational institution,” said Mayor Christian Macho.
Ideas for the new school were collected in workshops in June 2021. Construction began in June 2023. Since the beginning of this school year, the new elementary school has been offering students modern learning environments. The total investment volume of the project amounts to 18 million euros and is supported by interest subsidies of almost 4 million euros via the school and kindergarten fund.
