Linz (OTS) – Slowly but surely the new light rail system is picking up speed. Not literally yet, but figuratively. “Finally! “It was about time,” one or two impatient commentators could be heard shouting yesterday. But the preparation and planning for such a huge project, a “project of the century,” as LH Stelzer called it yesterday, cannot be done in such a hasty manner. And the sums involved here far exceed common infrastructure projects. In addition, the new regional light rail system is not simply being built in a free, green field, but is being implemented in THE economic and social center of the country. The project therefore becomes an open heart operation. The state and city got things rolling yesterday with their agreement. Now it’s the minister’s turn. Hopefully there will be no delays next year because of the banter surrounding the National Council election. Linz needs this train
Upper Austria needs this railway. The train is rolling…
