The future of skiing in a sustainable world
Saalbach-Hinterglemm (OTS) – one2zero GmbH invites decision-makers from ski sports and the Austrian economy to take part in the “Climate & Ski” event, which will take place next week in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. This format, taking place at the same time as the FIS Ski World Cup Finals, will highlight the urgent need to bring skiing into harmony with nature while fighting for a sustainable future.
Skiing is currently under sharp criticism as the effects of climate change become more and more noticeable. “one2zero is a pioneer in the climate and energy transition. Our strength is the combination of advice and implementation of technological solutions. The energy transition is a huge opportunity for tourism, skiing and Austria to remain competitive and fit for the future. Skiing is still “the hardest thing to do in 2035”, that’s what we’re working on at one2zero,” says CEO & Founder Tobias Wiener.
The goal of one2zero is to make the future of skiing sustainable and affordable. The company not only leaves its mark in the snow, but also a lasting impression on the world of skiing and beyond. With groundbreaking sustainability projects, one2zero helps to have a positive impact on skiing by actively saving CO2 and creating solutions to maintain ski areas.
As part of the event, one2zero will present their vision of the ski area of the future, which will make a significant contribution to averting climate change. The company not only shows concepts that can be implemented today to avoid CO2 emissions, but also other sustainable concepts for the circular economy and the careful use of resources.
The importance of measures to curb climate change in the Alps was once again made clear by this year’s warm winter. The implementation of such measures has long-term economic and ecological benefits.
A panel discussion with a group of experts will provide information about how skiing can be transformed towards greater sustainability. The discussion will be led by the renowned moderator Alexandra Meissnitzer. The panel will include ÖSV General Secretary Christian Scherer, CEO of Oecolution Elisabeth Zehetner and CEO Klaus Tonhäuser of Prinoth AG.
