Vienna (OTS) – The EU election from the perspective of first-time voters and young adults is the focus of a program focus on hit radio Ö3 in May – and now also on ORF television. In ten rounds of discussions (in five special programs), young politicians from the five parliamentary parties will discuss issues that are particularly important to young people. Thematically, these ten rounds of discussions are based on the topics of the large Ö3 youth study.
What do politically active young people think about the issues in the shadow of the major election campaign issues? Two representatives of different parties under the age of 30 will be guests in “Trefffunkt Zukunft”. They talk to the Ö3 presenters Denise Delle Karth and Tom Filzer about their thoughts and ideas for the Europe of the future. ORF 1 also shows these conversations in the picture – it starts on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:55 p.m. with Yannick Shetty (NEOS) and Paul Stich (SPÖ) or Anna Slama (Greens) and Alexander Murlasits (FPÖ).
It continues on May 24th with Severin Gruber (ÖVP) and Maximilian Weinzierl (FPÖ) or Anne-Sophie Bauer (Greens) and Anna Stürgkh (NEOS). Maximilian Aichinger (ÖVP) and Felix Stadler (Greens) as well as Michael Sommer (FPÖ) and Julian Krismer (SPÖ) will follow on May 27th. On May 28th, Leah Birnbaumer (Greens) and Fiona Schindl (SPÖ) and Julian Geier (ÖVP) and Sophie Wotschke (NEOS) will discuss. Silvio Hemmelmayr (FPÖ) and Christoph Müller (NEOS) as well as Vanessa Tuder (ÖVP) and Eva Steibl-Egenbauer (SPÖ) will conclude on May 29th.
Every year, as part of the Ö3 youth study, Hitradio Ö3 asks the country’s young generation how they feel, what stresses them out and what is important to them. Last year’s results made it clear that two thirds of 16-25 year olds are interested in political processes, but only 15 percent of this target group feel well represented by politics. For this reason, in May, on the occasion of the EU elections on June 9th, the visions and ideas of young politicians can be heard on Ö3 and their thoughts on how they can meet the wishes and needs of young Austrians.
