For many years, OMV, Austria’s largest industrial company, has been training in cooperation with TÜV Austria Akademie, one of the leading educational providers, chemical workers of the future. This successful partnership is now visible with the new “Chemical process technology” practice book. The strengthening of skilled worker training is the mission of the joint book project. On the occasion of the official book presentation, the representatives met: inside of both companies in the place where the prospective specialists are actively used during their training: in the refinery of the OMV in Schwechat.
Future Academy: A model that makes school
The correct interaction of raw materials, processes and technology decides on the quality of the end product. Chemical procedural technicians: Inside, the significant interface is. Clear structures, precise planning and extensive technical, chemical and scientific knowledge are therefore already required during their intensive training. Theory and dry training with active laboratory practice takes place in the Future Academy to prepare the apprentices for the high requirements. The chemistry is right here
The apprenticeship instructors: Inside Lukas Pratschner, Pia Bräuhofer and Katharina Ernst have created a practical reference work and tailor -made learning aids, which clearly explains the basic chemical principles and technical contexts and included 16 procedural fluid images. The recently published textbook is considered another milestone of the cooperation between OMV and TÜV Austria, which can be used both during the training in preparation for the apprenticeship examination and serves as a reference work for ongoing knowledge in everyday work.
Director Dr. Otmar Schneider (OMV Site Management Schwechat) focuses on partnership -based cooperation in the sense of a joint investment in the professional future of young people: “The apprenticeship continues to develop. Before we convey specific refinery knowledge, we would like to start understanding for basic principles, processes and techniques.
