Olischar: More speed in construction processes
Vienna (OTS) –

“Today’s press conference of the Chamber of Civilian Technicians for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland confirms what many builders, project developers and apartment seekers have long since experienced: 33% of the building permits are waiting for more than 12 months in Vienna. The procedures are too long, are too complicated and drive up unnecessarily. In ”, the planning spokeswoman for the Vienna People’s Party, municipal councilor Elisabeth Olishar, said in response to the criticism of the chamber of the long -term duration of construction processes in Vienna.

The Vienna People’s Party has long been calling for a rethink in the processes related to building permits. “We need simplified, more efficient procedures that create security for everyone involved – especially where it is about urgently needed living space and quality urban development projects. But not only that: faster procedures are also an essential factor when it comes to the economic situation and cost reduction. It is frightening that the digitization of processes and files has not yet been reached in Vienna – something has to be done,” says Olischhar.

“The city of Vienna is now required to take the legitimate concerns of the chamber seriously. In the sense of the economy, urban development and the affordable living space purchases, concrete steps are needed quickly to make the procedures more practical and sustainable. It is best to conclude through a complete realignment and formulation of the building code,” concludes Olischhar.
