In the elections ended on Thursday evening, the VSSTÖ reached 30 percent (plus four percentage points) and 18 mandates (plus three). The ÖVP-related campaign community (AG) ended up in second place with 21 percent and 12 mandates as well as the grass with 18 percent and, as before, eleven mandates. The young liberal students (Junos) came to eight percent (2023: nine) and four mandates (minus one), the party -independent school lists (Flö) to seven percent (2023: eight) and unchanged also four mandates. The clear victory of the Association of Socialist Students (VSSTÖ) in the elections to the Austrian University of Applied Sciences (ÖH) has made it much easier to search for a majority for a future ÖH leadership. Together with their longtime coalition partner, the Greens and alternative students (grass), the red students come to 29 seats in the 55-strong federal representation. For the first time in a long time, no third partner is necessary.
