ÖGK is pushing for a quick resumption of negotiations for an overall contract that is uniform in Austria
Vienna (OTS) –

The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) is aiming for a prompt implementation of a uniform medical office contract that is valid across Austria. The aim is to present a nationwide fee model with uniform tariffs by mid -2026. For this reason, the ÖGK pushes the medical association for negotiation talks in order to work together on a solution acceptable for all sides.

“We want to discuss all the common challenges in the resident area constructively and solution-oriented,” say ÖGK chairman Andreas Huss and chairman-StV. Peter McDonald.

Another central concern is to jointly develop opportunities for the damping of follow -up costs – of course without shortening the necessary services, but to shorten waiting times for necessary services. The focus should be on the avoidance of non -necessary services and the exhaustion of existing potential. This also results in more scope for fee adjustments.

The ÖGK of the Medical Association has transmitted specific appointments for the upcoming discussions. As a reliable partner in health care, the ÖGK is committed to fair and sustainable solutions in the interests of the insured and the contractual partners. For the upcoming discussions, the ÖGK sees an opportunity to work together on solutions that ensure the financial stability of the health system and ensure adequate reward for doctors.

The Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) is the largest social health insurance in Austria. It offers its 7.6 million insured persons a medically high -quality supply and comprehensive service from Lake Constance to Lake Neusiedler.
