OeMAG: Second funding call for PV systems

OeMAG: Second funding call for PV systems

30 million are available for the second PV funding call in 2024

Vienna/Bregenz (OTS) The first funding call of 2024 took place in mid-April: 10,162 applications were submitted and were covered by the funding budget. A similar rush can also be expected for the second PV funding call (June 12, 2024 – June 26, 2024) for commercial and large systems.

Step by step, together we can achieve the stated goal of covering the increased electricity demand of around 140 TWH per year from renewable energy sources by 2040. In order to meet this need, OeMAG also promotes the expansion of hydropower, wind power and biogases/biomass. For example, the funding call for hydropower plants up to 2 MW starts at the end of June (June 25, 2024) – all information about the respective funding call dates can be found here on our website: https://www.eag-abwicklungsstelle.at/foerderkalender

“Things will continue to be exciting in 2024: The expansion of electricity generation from renewable energy sources must continue, but the rapid expansion of PV systems poses a major challenge to our energy infrastructure – in addition to expanding the power grid as quickly as possible, intelligent use of the existing infrastructure is necessary “It is absolutely necessary to further expand renewable green electricity generation by balancing load peaks through the use of flexible storage technology.”said board member Dr. Horst Brandlmaier, MBA.

Renewable power sources play a crucial role in environmental protection and a more sustainable way of life in Austria. The use of PV systems, wind and hydropower as well as biogas/biomass actively reduces the dependence on fossil fuels. Clean energy sources like these help combat climate change, improve air quality and help preserve natural habitats. In addition, renewable energy sources represent an opportunity to strengthen the regional value chain in the area of green technologies.

“New technologies and usage concepts for renewable power sources show the wide range of possibilities for working together to improve the quality of life for all of us today!”adds board member Mag. Gerhard Röthlin.

Renewable energies therefore make an important contribution to Austria’s ecological and economic future. Through the intelligent use of renewable energy sources and the electricity generated, in addition to independence from fossil fuels, the decarbonization of the energy system is also further tackled.
