IT cannot do without female expertise
Vienna (OTS) – Encouraging women to take the step into IT is an important goal of the Austrian Computer Society (OCG). The OCG works on many levels and in numerous projects to get girls and women excited about IT and thus be active designers of the present and future.
“Digitalization is the topic of the future, and our dependence on information and communication technologies will continue to increase with Web3 and Metaverse. There is an urgent need for skilled workers in all areas and a recognition that we urgently need women in STEM fields. I would therefore like to encourage all women to take an interest in these exciting subject areas and not to leave the shaping of our future and the chance for the best-paying jobs to men.”

A focus is therefore on active participation in the ditact – Women’s IT studies in Salzburg to get women excited about IT with an exciting course program.
“Women have much more confidence – there are a wide range of training opportunities on exciting IT topics, especially in the area of IT security. Today, IT is a cross-sectional matter with high social relevance. This is where women can fully utilize their skills for structured thinking, communication and teamwork.”

Need female professionals
IT is a diverse and exciting industry that offers well-paid jobs. “The OCG also has a very clear position on this point: women can and should benefit from better career prospects in IT. In this case, there are actually only female winners, as IT companies will not be able to do without the perspective and expertise of female specialists in the future
